Class/Self Evaluation

Class/Self Evaluation

Some things that I liked about this class were that I get to use technology and I really don't have to write anything down on paper. Some things i didn't like about the class was that it's boring. Things that I would suggest to improve the class are having better music and having more free time. No, I didn't really try my best in this class. I am not commited top being a CTR person because I sometimes do the wrong thing knowing i could've done the right thing.

Six ways to Make People Like You

Six Ways to Make People Like You
Rule 1: Become genuinely interested in other people
"Do this and you will be welcome anywhere."
"You can make more friends in two months by becomng interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you."
"Ask questions to other people, questions that they would enjoy answering."
  • Reflection: This new rule is saying that you should become interested in what other people enjoy doing and what they like instead of trying to get them to like what you like. For example, if you want someone to be your friend, you should ask them what they like to do and try to become interested in the same topic. This way you guys have something in common and you guys will become friends that way.
  • To apply this new rule i will become genuiely interested in other people.
Rule 2: Smile
"Actions speak louder than words, and a smile says, "I like you. You make me happy. I am glad to see you."
"You don't feel like smiling? Then force yourself to smile."
"It creates happiness in the home, fosters good will in a business, and is the countersign (witness or indication) of friends."

  • Quote: "Let my soul smile through my heartand my heart smile through my eyes, that I may scatter smiles in sad hearts
  • Reflection: This means that you should smile at people more often to show that you are happy to see them.  what this quote is trying to say is smile no matter what because smiling is a good thing. you will be much more of a like able person. people would want to be your friend because they will find you friendly and a very, very like able person. so you should smile and live a happy life because all life is precious.
Rule 3: Remembering names
"A man's name is to him the sweetest and most important sound in any language."
"If you don't remember names, you are headed for trouble."

Quote:Forgive your enemies, but never forget their names.
John F. Kennedy

Reflection: This quote is trying to say to be kind to you're enemy's and too forgive them but to remember their names because its very important to remember. Also if that if you remember someone name because it will make them remember you're name. They will want to be come friends with you because you know them and your kind to them. They will and would want to be your friend because having friends is the best thing you can ever have and they are very fun and funny people to have around you.

How to Remember names

  • meet and repeat
  • spell it out
  • associate
  • make connections
  • choose to care
Rule 4: Be a good listener. Encourage others to talk about themselves
"If you aspire to be a good conversationalist, be an attentive listener."
"Remember that the man you are  talking to is a hundred times more interested in himself and his wants and his problems than he is in you and your problems."
  • Quote: No siren did ever so charm the ear of the listener as the listening ear has charmed the soul of the siren. - Henry Taylor
  • Reflection: This rule is stating that you can make people like you because you are listening to what they have to say which means you are showing interest in them. ON the other hand, if you only talk about yourself and don't let them speak they will think you're selfish.
Rule 5: Talk in terms of the other man's interest.
"The royal road to a man's heart is to talk to him about the things he treasures most."
Reflection: If when talking to another person the only way a conversation will be interesting between the two will be when you talk about something the other person loves. It will automatically be boring if the other person hears you blabber about things that they don't like. If you don't know nothing on that subject, spend the day or night researching what it is so you can have an insight on the things that interests them. Starting a conversation about their interests will bring up enthusiasm in the conversation.
Rule 6: Make the other person feel important- and do it sincerely.
"The desire to be important is the deepest urge in human nature."
"Helping people feel important and appreciated works magic."

  • Quote:  Whenever you go out-of-doors, draw the chin in, carry the crown of the head high, and fill the lungs to the utmost; drink in the sunshine; greet your friends with a smile, and put soul into every handclasp. Do not fear being misunderstood and do not waste a minute thinking about your enemies. Try to fix firmly in your mind what you would like to do; and then, without veering off direction, you will move straight to the goal. Keep your mind on the great and splendid things you would like to do, and then, as the days go gliding away, you will find yourself unconsciously seizing upon the opportunities that are required for the fulfillment of your desire.

Overall Reflection: These six ways will make people like you because they will like that you are interested in them and that you talk about what interests them. Also because you will always smile at them and because you actually listen to what they say.

Six Additudes of High Achievers

High Achievers...
1). Make no small plans

  • Reflection: You should always aim for the highest point. Once you do that you have to make a plan for how you will get there and wok hard to achiev your goal and execute your plan. For example, if i want to graduate from college, my plan is to get really good grades in school so I could get scholarships for college so i won't have to pay anything. Next, I would get good grades in college until i graduate.
  • To apply this new attitude i will aim for the highest standard in school.
  • An example of a high achiever is NBA star Stephen Curry. He aimed to be in the NBA and worked really hard to achieve his goal. He would always practice harder and more time than everybody else until he had perfect for on every shot.

  • Reflection:  This attitude means you will risk to fail in order to succeed in what you are doing. For example, if you want to be a NFL star you have to take the risk of getting hurt and getting hit hard.
  • To apply this new attitude i will take risks in life to achieve what i want
5. Are teachable
  • Reflection:This attitude means that you have to be willing to learn even if you already know lots of stuff.
  •  To apply this I will be more open minded and willing to learn as much as i can.
6. have heart
  • Reflection:Having heart is a good thing because when you have heart you are a kind and heart warming person. and willing to help someone in need of your help and that is what having heart is mostly about.
  • Quote: Throughout life people will make you mad, disrespect you and treat you bad. Let God deal with the things they do, cause hate in your heart will consume you too.
Overall Reflection:These attitudes will help me because if I have these attitudes i will succeed in life. For example, being teachable will help me because I will learn more and more even if i still know a lot of information.

Way to Be
9 Ways to be Happy and Make Something of your Life

Gordon B. Hinkley
  1. Be grateful:
  •  Quote: It is not happy people who are thankful; but thankful people who are happy.
  • Reflection: This way will make you be happy because you will be thankful for everything that you have. For example, be thankful that you have a home and you are not starving to death

2. Be Smart:

  • Quote:"Stay stupid or fight for being smart."
  • Reflection:This quote means that in order to be smart you have to try. For example, in order to pass a test with a good score you have to study or else you will fail the test because you didn't try to pass it.
3. Be involved in good works:

  • Quote:"When you do good work, people will notice you." -Ram Kapoor
  • Reflection: This quote means exactly what it states. For example, if you are  doing a good job at football practice, the coaches will notice you and give you the position/s you want to play.
4. Be clean:

  • Quote:"Create in me a clean heart, o god, and renew a right spirit within me." -Author Unknown
  • Reflection: This quote is talking about having a clean heart which involves doing the right thing and choosing the right. For example, a person with a clean heart doesn't do drugs or drinks alcohol, instead they are involved in school and do sports or clubs.

5. Be True
  • Quote: “The moon does not fight. It attacks no one. It does not worry. It does not try to crush others. It keeps to its course, but by its very nature, it gently influences. What other body could pull an entire ocean from shore to shore? The moon is faithful to its nature and its power is never diminished.”
  • Reflection: For all of our history, when people think they see themselves, they are always seeing themselves reflected backwards. Recently, with cameras and video, they can get a sense of what they look like forwards, but it’s a static or non-eye to eye view. However, as it turns out, the backward images and person we see in a mirror is profoundly different from what is real. The backwardness distorts not just our features, but the information in our faces and personalities as well. No wonder we see ourselves differently than others see us!
6. Be positive:
  • Quote:"Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see a shadow." -Helen Keller
  • Reflection: This quote means that if you stick to being positive you will never see the negative side to things. It means to ignore the bad stuff in your life and focus on the things that are good. To be positive means to think good. For example, being positive towards taking a  test and thinking that you will do good on it. To apply this new way i will be positive.

  • Reflection: To be still means to relax stay calm don't worry about anything be a calm person. not one that doesn't know how to sit down and be true to themselves be kind and heart warming. also be kind and a cool person. be a Ctr person im doing these posts to show to people to be a Ctr person. you and you're family should be ctr people because being one is a very good thing to do. For example, you will be thankful that you have a roof over your haed and that you have something to eat instead of feeling bad because you can't get the new game that you want.
